VICI CHURCH OF THE   NAZARENE

VICI NAZARENE

WHO WE ARE

We believe that the goal of church is not to make people more religious but to help people fall in love with Christ.

We are a holiness people on mission to make disciples and become more Christ-like. We believe in the power of prayer and that without the manifest presence and power of the Holy Spirit, and if Christ is not glorified, then all is in vain. We believe in our founding mission to preach holiness and carry the gospel to the poor and needy. All are welcome to the table of God's grace, mercy, and love. No matter who you are, or where you are in your journey of life, you're welcome here.

OUR HISTORY

Vici Church of the Nazarene dates itself back to an open-air meeting in 1934. Brother F.A. Smith was the evangelist. After this meeting, Sunday School was held in various homes. In 1935, Smith returned and held a tent meeting. Following this meeting services were held in a business building called the Star Livery Barn and the Vici Community Building. In the summer of 1936, while worshipping in the Vici Community Building, The Vici Nazarene Church was organized with twenty-two charter members, by Sister Louie Boomer. She remained the pastor until 1941.
